Support services are vital to creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our patients and staff. From ensuring clean, comfortable spaces to managing critical operations behind the scenes, your contributions make a difference every day.

The Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) is a technical area responsible for reprocessing instrumentation, devices and equipment used for surgery and clinical procedures. Our highly skilled Central Sterile Processing Technicians are responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing reusable instruments and equipment. This exciting opportunity will allow technicians to work with the most cutting-edge surgical technology, including robotic surgical instrumentation and high-tech automated equipment.

The overall objective of CSPD is to have the correct item at the right place, at the right time, and in the proper condition. Processing millions of instruments per year, we strive to provide the highest quality product while maintaining quality aseptic control procedures in a continuing effort to prevent and control the spread of infection.

The department has the most current technology and equipment to perform all stages of the reprocessing procedures, such as:

  • 3-compartment height adjustable sinks
  • Automated washer/disinfectors

  • Automated Endoscope reprocessors
  • Electronic scope leak tester
  • Fiber-optic channel inspector borescopes

Food & Nutrition Services at NYU Langone have undergone a significant transformation. Local ingredients, award-winning chefs, and nutrition education programs have come together to create a uniquely innovative environment for Registered Dietitians, Chefs, Utility Attendants and Food Service Workers, who are supported by our sanitation team who maintains our kitchen and cafeterias to remain spotless and in excellent condition.

We currently have a lot of exciting things going on in the Food and Nutrition department, including a brand-new, state-of-the-art Main Cafeteria. We also have various retail venues that are available for staff convenience. Our patients are offered a visual and audio/spoken menu to meet their diet order and personal preferences.

We work closely with physicians and the entire multidisciplinary care team to ensure proper nutrition and share our knowledge and expertise in many ways. Dietitians participate in meetings and on committees, attend rounds, precept dietetic interns and local college students, and participate in employee wellness and community health activities.

We work closely with local farms/vendors and keep up with all the new food trends to stay fresh and exciting.

The Building Services Housekeeping department supports the mission and vision of NYU Langone by providing an inviting, world-class environment for patient care and treatment. Our work is integral to infection control and the overall cleanliness of all facilities, with particular attention to heavily trafficked and frequently touched areas.

We use state-of-the-art, automated cleaning equipment and the most advanced and effective methods for cleaning, trash removal and pest control. Housekeeping is a “go-to” department where people are committed to exceeding quality and service expectations. We have been recognized locally and nationally for our innovation and patient-centered focus, with several staff members honored for outstanding performance.

NYU Langone’s Security department is dedicated to providing the safest possible environments for the patients, visitors, faculty, students and staff who occupy and visit our buildings.This is accomplished through fixed and mobile security posts, security escort services, and cutting-edge security technology. Our professional and courteous security staff members respond to all types of events on and off the main campus and are trained to manage workplace conflict incidents skillfully.
